A Liberal Arts option provides a focused path to completing the Liberal Arts degree while developing 100- and 200-level knowledge and skills in a specific field. Students should work closely with their advisor to select courses that align with their career or transfer goals. If you don't satisfy the requirements of a specific option, you may still may still qualify for another option or the Liberal Arts General degree. Note that you will graduate with an Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts degree, with your area of concentration reflected only on your transcript.
Total Credits
MUS 138: two semesters required
MUS 230: two credit lessons on primary instrument; four total semesters required
MUS 231: 4 semesters required, concurrent with MUS 230
Complete 6 credits total, with at least 4 credits in one ensemble.
Complete 3 credits of any course other than a developmental course.
Complete one course approved as a Diversity Course; this course can also fulfill one other program requirement listed above.
