A Liberal Arts option provides a focused path to completing the Liberal Arts degree while developing 100- and 200-level knowledge and skills in a specific field. Students should work closely with their advisor to select courses that align with their career or transfer goals. If you don't satisfy the requirements of a specific option, you may still may still qualify for another option or the Liberal Arts General degree. Note that you will graduate with an Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts degree, with your area of concentration reflected only on your transcript.
Total Credits
Please note that transfer to many four-years colleges and universities may require completion of four sequential semesters of world languages. Transfer specialists recommend using electives to start language requirements at the community college prior to transfer.
These courses will need to be selected while working with an academic advisor and will be determined by the student's transfer field of interest or intended career choice.
Complete 10-11 credits of any courses other than developmental courses.
Recommended: one course focused on an interdisciplinary approach (i.e. GWS 115, CMN 153)
Complete one course approved as a Diversity Course; this course can also fulfill one other program requirement listed above.
