A Liberal Arts option provides a focused path to completing the Liberal Arts degree while developing 100- and 200-level knowledge and skills in a specific field. Students should work closely with their advisor to select courses that align with their career or transfer goals. If you don't satisfy the requirements of a specific option, you may still may still qualify for another option or the Liberal Arts General degree. Note that you will graduate with an Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts degree, with your area of concentration reflected only on your transcript.
Total Credits
ENG 207, ENG 208, and ENG 241 are prohibited/excluded here.
EGR 105 can also be used to fulfill this requirement.
When choose your math course, please refer to the following teacher licensure interest below:
--PreK to 2nd grade: MAT 116 and MAT 117 strongly recommended
--1st to 6th grade: MAT 116 and MAT 117 strongly recommended
--5th to 12th grade: any MAT course other than MAT 105 and 106 (work with your advisor to choose courses, according to your concentration area for your non-Education major at your transfer institution).
Complete 19 credits of courses other than developmental courses.
Please note that transfer to many four-years colleges and universities may require completion of four sequential semesters of world languages. Transfer specialists recommend using electives to start language requirements at the community college prior to transfer.
Complete one course approved as a Diversity Course; this course can also fulfill one other program requirement listed above.
